Post-arrival orientation sessions in Iraq for female immigrant domestic workers

Baghdad, Iraq: Despite the ongoing impact of the pandemic, we have been holding post-arrival orientation sessions for immigrants. A good example of this is the training workshops co-organised by our Migrants Resource Centre (MRC) and our migrant protection initiative (MIGRA.P).

This involved awareness raising activities for foreign domestic workers at the Zarqa Alimah Company in Baghdad. In doing so, this workshop provided information for female workers who had just arrived in Iraq of their rights and obligations under Iraqi law as workers in the country. The sessions were also an opportunity to answer workers’ questions.

Our Migrants Resource Centres and the MIGRA.P initiative are funded by the European Union.
