Vienna, October 2022. Reflecting on the EU Anti-trafficking day today, the Budapest Process and European Migration Network (EMN) are jointly organising a conference on Trafficking in Persons (TiP) on 20-21 October 2022. The conference is hosted by Hungary in Budapest and will include close to 25 countries and several international organisations.
Trafficking in Persons remains a topic of importance and one of the major challenges that are present in the Silk Routes region. Therefore, this conference will provide an opportunity to the experts present to share their experiences, good practices and current challenges in the field of human trafficking by:
- Exploring the latest trends of TiP and irregular migration in countries along the routes;
- Understand ongoing challenges and learn from good practices of law enforcement and border management authorities;
- Gain an insight into the protection structures for victims of trafficking in countries along the routes;
- Explore opportunities for cooperation among the countries of origin, transit and destination in developing and implementing effective measures to prevent and counter TiP, including improving the identification of victims and providing protection, especially to vulnerable groups among them.
If you want to learn more about Trafficking in Persons this video will provide you with an information on international law definition of human trafficking that breaks down into "actions", "means" and "purpose".
