Reflecting the evolving dynamics of the Process in January 2006, Turkey took over the Chairmanship of the Budapest Process, putting a strong emphasis on continuity and bringing in broadened ideas with regard to the topics examined. In addition to the traditional areas of interest for the Budapest Process, the topics discussed include return and readmission, border management and asylum, admission and immigration policies, labour migration, integration and re-integration.
Hungary remains as the Co-Chair of the Budapest Process and engages actively in including the Silk Routes countries into the Budapest Process in close co-operation with the Turkish Chair.
